i am still all drugged up on vicodin but i don't really look like a chipmunk anymore. i couldn't go into the lab today because i am still in so much pain so instead i slept, read the issue of vogue that lindsay brought for me, and ate strawberry jello and the richest chocolate pudding ever from whole foods.

i don't know if i'm allowed to say this, but today j got a five-figure bonus. i think "astronomically high" was the way he put it. it was totally shocking and exciting. i guess that's what happens when your company makes a million dollars a day. oops - i mean, that's what happens when you are such a hard worker! anyway, today i got my stafford loan to help pay for mills. not quite as thrilling.

we're going out to california on thursday to look at apartments/houses. oh my god cross-country apartment-hunting is really fucking stressful. i am glued to craigslist. do we want to live in berkeley or oakland? lake merritt or by mills? separately or together? california is so weird!!! a lot of the listings are so depressing. look, this is the kind of stuff we're looking at. it's all over the place.

movies i've seen since i posted last: my summer of love, mad hot ballroom, charlie & the chocolate factory. i can't remember what else. and this weekend was a veritable trashy film fest because of the wisdom teeth. although lindsay and i both really liked a love song for bobby long. now that's where i'd like to live, is in their house in louisiana. it was painted the most beautiful colors. and what a porch!
